Simon Nygaard is an award winning Solid Plasterer based in Melbourne, Australia.
Born in Denmark, his parents immigrated to Australia in 1983 and his journey in the construction industry began at age 18, joining his fathers bricklaying business.
Soon afterward, he was presented with the opportunity to commence working for a leading Heritage conservation company, where he began his apprenticeship in Solid Plastering.
His commitment to excellence was evident throughout his studies as he received the award for best overall student out of 59,000 students across Australia.
Simon was also awarded the prestigious Florence M. Taylor Award, the Melbourne Restoration Heritage Fund Award and the Master Builders State Award for Solid Plastering.
For over a decade, Simon has refined his skills in the fine art of Heritage Restoration and has been honoured to work on some of Melbourne most iconic buildings including the State Library, The GPO, Camberwell Town Hall and Myer Emporium.
Simon is passionate when it comes to conserving our heritage, and his fine handcraft skills set him apart as a true artisan.
